Directorate of Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy, Chennai has released the admission notification for Admission to 2½ years AYUSH Diploma Courses (DIP/DNT) in both the Government Schools at Chennai and Palayamkottai, for the academic year 2024-25
AYUSH stands for Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathy—systems of medicine that focus on natural healing and holistic approaches.
AYUSH Diploma Courses (DIP/DNT) Admission 2024
Diploma in Integrated Pharmacy (D.I.P) – The Diploma in Integrated Pharmacy (D.I.P) is a specialized diploma course that integrates the study of traditional pharmaceutical sciences with modern practices in healthcare, including an understanding of Ayurvedic, Unani, Siddha, and other alternative medical systems. This program is typically designed to produce skilled professionals who can work in both the conventional pharmaceutical industry and holistic health care sectors.
Diploma in Nursing Therapy (D.N.T) – The Diploma in Nursing Therapy (D.N.T) is a specialized diploma program focused on training individuals in therapeutic nursing practices, with an emphasis on using naturopathy, herbal medicine, yoga, and other holistic therapies to promote health and well-being. The course typically aims to equip students with the necessary skills to work as nurses or therapists in settings such as hospitals, wellness centers, naturopathy clinics, or alternative medicine centers.
candidates must have completed 10+2 or equivalent with a background in Science, particularly in subjects like Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
Age Limit
The age limit for this course may vary between institutions but is generally between 17 and 35 years.
All the candidates should have completed the age of 17 years on or before 31st December 2024 and the maximum age limit is 35 years for Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Caste (Arunthathiyars) / Scheduled Tribes and 30 years for Other Communities.
Educational Qualification
Candidates generally need to have completed 10+2 or its equivalent, with a background in Science (preferably with Biology, Physics, and Chemistry).
- Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology (or) Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology (or) Physics, Chemistry, Biology with any other subject.
- Candidates who have passed in vocational stream, is not eligible to apply
Course Duration
The duration of study for both the courses shall be 2½ years including six months of Non-Stipendiary Compulsory Rotatory Internship training at various hospitals of this Department.
Admission Procedure
Admission to Diploma Courses will be made purely on merit, based on the +2 marks.
The candidates should be physically present for Counselling on the date of counselling at their own cost at the venue which will be intimated through official website only.
Candidates who failed to attend the Counselling will forfeit their chance and seat.

Candidates should submit the filled in application form, downloaded from the official website tnhealth.tn.gov.in , with all the required supporting documents, along with the details of payment of Rs.350/- (Rupees three hundred and fifty only) towards the application cost i.e., with SBI collect transaction ID (copy of receipt to be enclosed).
