Course Overview

After completion of the course, students have the opportunity to get the job in India and abroad also. Further, students also can do M.Sc (MLT), M. Phil and Ph. D also.

Medical Laboratory technology is conscientious for performing laboratory investigations as a medical laboratory scientist (MLS), Clinical Laboratory scientist (CLS), Medical laboratory technician or technologist (MLT).

Medical Laboratory Technology

It is a healthcare professional who performs chemical, hematological, immunologic, histopathological, cytopathological, microscopic and bacteriological diagnostic analyses on body fluids such as blood, urine, sputum, stool, cerebrospinal fluid, peritoneal fluid, pericardial fluid and synovial fluid as well as other specimens.

Eligibility

Pass in H.Sc/Equivalent with 12 years schooling form a recognized Board or University with Science (Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Botany and Zoology)and English with Minimum of 40% of mark.

Age Limit for Admission

A Candidate should have completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission or would complete the said age on or before 31st December of the year of admission to the B.SC. Medical Laboratory Technology.

Course Duration & Internship

3 years and one year Compulsory Resident Internship.

The Medical Lab is the backbone of any hospital, either a small nursing home or a large corporate hospital. However much a doctor can assess the patient, he or she cannot give proper treatment without the benefit of laboratory results. The three pillars of Medical Labarotory technology are Biochemistry, Microbiology and Pathology.
