Diploma in Pharmacy Exit Examination (DPEE) October 2024
The Diploma in Pharmacy Exit Examination (DPEE) has been introduced through Diploma in Pharmacy Exit Examination Regulations, 2022. The candidates who have successfully completed the approved course of Diploma in Pharmacy and have qualified the Diploma in Pharmacy Exit Examination alone will be eligible for registration as pharmacists under section 32 of the Pharmacy Act 1948.
The DPEE shall be conducted in March/April and September/October every year.
National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has been entrusted with the responsibility to conduct the Diploma in Pharmacy Exit Examination (DPEE) as per Diploma in Pharmacy Exit Examination Regulations, 2022. Role of NBEMS is limited to conduct of the Examination, publishing the result and handing over the result to Pharmacy Council of India & all State Pharmacy Councils.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who have passed Diploma in Pharmacy course from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India under section 12 of the Pharmacy Act, 1948 can register for the Diploma in Pharmacy Exit Examination.
The result of final examination for the said Diploma in Pharmacy qualification should have been declared on or before 31st July 2024.
Candidates must note that it is mandatory for them to submit proof /documentary evidence that clearly establishes that the result of the final examination for Diploma in Pharmacy qualification was declared on or before the cut-off date i.e. 31st July 2024.
Why this Exam Needed?
After coming into force of these regulations, the candidates who have completed the approved course of Diploma in Pharmacy and having qualified in the Diploma in Pharmacy Exit Examination only will be eligible for registration as pharmacists under section 33 of the Pharmacy Act 1948.
Scheme of Diploma in Pharmacy Exit Examination
There shall be three papers of multiple choice questions in subjects/knowledge areas covered in the the syllabus as per the Diploma in Pharmacy Education Regulations 2020 (ER 2020) issued by Pharmacy Council of India. Questions in each of these three papers shall be asked from the subjects as per the blueprint prescribed by Pharmacy Council of India.
Each paper shall comprise of 150 multiple choice questions. Each question shall have 4 response options/distractors in English language only. Candidates are required to select the correct/best/ most appropriate response/answer out of the 4 response options provided in each question.
There shall be three papers in DPEE i.e. Paper – 1, Paper – 2 & Paper – 3. These three paper i.e. Paper – 1, Paper – 2 & Paper – 3 shall be conducted on three consecutive days i.e. 3rd, 4th and 5th October 2024 respectively. Each paper shall be comprising of 150 questions to be attempted in 180 minutes. All candidates shall be divided in two groups and shall be required to take these papers in either morning shift or the afternoon shift, each day.
Exam Pattern
Each question paper for DPEE will be divided into multiple time bound sections. For example, if there are 3-time bound sections* (Section A, B & C) in the question paper, each Section will have 50 questions and 60 minutes of time allotted for the section. Candidates would be restricted to proceed to the next section until completion of the allotted time of the previous section and candidates would not be allowed to review the questions/modify the responses of a section after the completion of the allotted time of that section. Questions of the next section will start automatically after the completion of the allotted time of the previous section.
Negative Marking
There shall be no negative marking.
Pass Percentage
A candidate shall be declared as having passed only, if he obtains a minimum of 50% marks in each paper separately. A candidate shall have to pass all the three papers in the same attempt.

Rs. 5000/- + GST 18% (Rs. 900) – Total Amount Payable Rs. 5900
