The Round-I counselling schedule for admission to MBBS and BDS courses in Tamil Nadu for the 2024–2025 academic session has been released.
The Selection Committee, Directorate of Medical Education & Research (DME) has released the Round-I counselling schedule for admission to MBBS and BDS courses in Tamil Nadu Government Medical & Dental Colleges, ESIC Medical College, K.K. Nagar, Chennai, Government & Management Quota (incl. NRI & Minority) seats in Self Financing Medical & Dental Colleges, State Private Universities, Christian Medical College, Vellore and Wards of IRT Candidates.
Paramedical Round 1 Counselling Schedule
The Paramedical Round 1 counselling schedule with important dates are provided below
Important Dates
- Registration and Payment: Begins on August 21, 2024, at 10:00 AM, and continues until August 27, 2024, at 5:00 PM.
- Choice Filling and Locking: Candidates can fill and lock their choices during this period. If choices are not locked manually, the system will lock them automatically.
- Seat Allotment: The seat allotment process starts on August 28, 2024.
- Provisional Allotment Results: Announced on August 29, 2024.
- Final Allotment Results: Released on August 30, 2024.
- Downloading Allotment Orders: From August 30, 2024, to September 5, 2024, candidates can download their provisional allotment orders.
- Reporting to Allotted Colleges: Candidates must report to their allotted institutions by the specified date with all required documents for verification.
Online Counselling
Candidates who are participating the online choice filling for MBBS & BDS Degree Courses will have to remit a non-refundable Registration Fee of Rs.500/- for Government Quota and Rs.1000/- for Management Quota.
Refundable Security Deposit for Government Quota
At the time of registration, the candidate will have to pay Refundable Security Deposit for Government Quota:
For Government Medical Colleges – Nil
For Government Dental Colleges – Nil
For Government Quota seats in Self-Financing Medical & Dental Colleges & State Private Universities – Rs.30,000/-
SC/SCA/ST and Converts to Christianity from Scheduled Caste candidates (SCC) are Exempted from Security deposit if the annual Income is less than 2.5 Lakhs
Refundable Security Deposit for Management Quota
At the time of registration, the candidate will have to pay Refundable Security Deposit for Management Quota:
Management Quota including Minority / NRI Category seats in Self Financing Medical & Dental Colleges & State Private Universities Rs.1,00,000/-
SC/SCA/ST and Converts to Christianity from Scheduled Caste candidates (SCC) are Exempted from Security deposit if the annual Income is less than 2.5 Lakhs
Choice Filling
Candidates will have the option of choice filling for all the seats for which they have applied to. For example, if a candidate has applied for both Government and management quota he will have choices for both Government as well as Management quota. The candidates are encouraged to analyse all the choices available and fill their choices in order of their preference.
Candidates can edit their choices any number of times before locking, But once locked they will not be allowed to edit. Hence candidates are requested to check their choices and the order of preference before locking.
If the candidate does not lock his/her choices till the last date (27-08-2024 5:00 PM) their choices will be automatically locked.
Seat Matrix for the Courses will be available on the official website.
Admission to MBBS & BDS Degrees courses shall be made by the ONLINE COUNSELLING on the basis of rank by applying the rule of reservation. Request for change of course (MBBS/BDS) or College, from one to another is not permitted after final locking.
Allotment Orders Download
The candidate if allotted a seat, (for MBBS seats in all colleges under all categories and BDS seats in Government Dental Colleges) he/she has to pay the Tuition Fee for downloading the Provisional allotment order through online via Debit Card / Credit Card/Net Banking.
The candidate if allotted a BDS seat in Self Financing Dental Colleges he/she has to pay the Tuition Fee at the time of admission to the colleges directly.

The allotted candidates should download their provisional allotment order and join the course in the concerned Medical College/Institution on or before the stipulated date and time as mentioned in the Provisional Allotment Order.
Reporting to Allotted College
The Certificate Verification will be done in the selected colleges itself.
The candidates should produce their ORIGINAL CERTIFICATES in person at the time of joining in their selected Colleges along with the scanned copy of original certificates for verification.
If you do not report to the Head of the Institution to which you are allotted on or before the time and date specified, your selection and / or admission will be cancelled without any further notice.
The Candidate selected for admission should give a self-declaration form at the time of the reporting to the concerned College that he/she is liable for forfeiture of selection / admission if suppression of facts, misinterpretation is found at any time during or after the admission to the course.
Candidates are advised to be in touch with official website (www.tnmedicalselection.org) for Schedule / latest updates / Results / Notices / News & Events pertaining to counselling as Selection Committee will not be individually contacting the candidates for the same.
