TN MRB Assistant Surgeon Recruitment 2024 | 2553 Vacancies – CBT Exam dates Announced
Tamil Nadu Medical Services Recruitment Board (TN MRB) had published Notification for Direct Recruitment to the Post of Assistant Surgeon (General) for 2553 vacancies on temporary basis in Tamil Nadu Medical Service with Notification No : 01/MRB/2024 dated 15.03.2024.
The Commencement of submission of application through Online mode started on 24.04.2024 and ended on 15.05.2024 as per the initial detailed recruitment notification.
Then the last date for submission of online application and online payment fixed as 15.05.2024 was extended upto 15.07.2024. The cut-off date for the candidates to register their name in Tamil Nadu Medical Council is revised as on or before 15.07.2024.

Computer Based Test (CBT)
TN Medical Services Recruitment Board has announced the date of Computer Based Examination for filling up the vacancies of 2553 Assistant Surgeon (General) posts.
The Computer Based Test for the Post of Assistant Surgeon (General) is scheduled to be held on 05th January 2025 (Sunday).

Tamil Language Eligibility Test – The Minimum qualifying marks is 40% for all Communal categories.
Subject Paper – The Minimum qualifying marks is 30 for SC/SCA/ST and 35 for Others.
Important Note about the Examination
- The question paper in the subject “Medical Sciences” will be set in English only and will contain 100 objective type questions. The Questions will be in the standard of Under Graduate Level.
- There will be no negative mark for the wrong answer and no oral Test (Interview) for the post.
- The candidates who have applied under PWBD (Persons With Bench Mark Disability) category for the posts of Assistant Surgeon (General) are eligible for compensatory time of 20 Minutes to write the Computer Based Test.
Normalization of the marks
The Computer Based Examination is conducted in multiple sessions. Whenever Computer Based Examination is conducted in multiple sessions based on the same syllabus, same pattern for candidates having same eligibility criteria, the raw marks obtained by the candidates in different sessions will be converted to normalized marks.
A candidate will be permitted to appear only in one session. Attending more than one session will automatically leads to disqualification of the candidature and no further correspondence in this regard will be entertained.
In case the examinations are conducted in only one session, actual marks obtained by the candidates will only be considered for calculating the Merit List.
Selection Procedure
Marks secured in the Tamil Eligibility Test (SSLC Standard) will not be taken into account for ranking. Candidates those who have qualified in Tamil Eligibility Test (SSLC Standard) by obtaining minimum qualifying marks of 40% alone are eligible for corrections of the subject paper prescribed for
this post.
Selection will be made based on the marks obtained in the Computer Based Test and the incentive marks awarded for the services rendered during Covid pandemic.
There will be No Oral Test for the post.
