Counselling eligibility checklist
Use this checklist to find the rules and documents to verify for your chosen quota. The Selection Committee decides eligibility from your application and supporting documents; this page does not determine whether you qualify.
1. Open the right official prospectus
- Government quota prospectus ↗ — check its nativity, community reservation and special category rules for the seats you plan to choose.
- Management quota prospectus ↗ — includes the separate conditions for minority and NRI seats in covered colleges.
Use the Selection Committee notices ↗ for amendments, category lists and round-specific instructions.
2. Check the basic admission conditions
NEET UG 2026
Check your qualifying status and the applicable percentile in the prospectus for your category.
Age and school subjects
Check the age cutoff, qualifying examination, required subjects and marks rules.
Nationality and nativity
Check the rules for your citizenship or OCI/PIO status and whether a Tamil Nadu nativity certificate is required for the seats you seek.
Supporting records
Prepare the certificates and uploads specified for your quota and claimed category before submitting the application.
The management prospectus covers general eligibility in sections 5–7 (printed pages 19–21). Read the government prospectus separately if you apply for government quota.
3. Verify every additional category you claim
Minority seats
The management prospectus, section 8 (printed pages 21–22), specifies Tamil Nadu nativity and documentary evidence for the listed Telugu or Malayalam linguistic and Christian minority seats. Check the exact certificate requirements before claiming one.
NRI seats
Section 9 of the management prospectus (from printed page 22) sets out the qualifying relationship, passport, sponsor and document requirements. Check the full section and its annexures; an NRI seat pool label alone does not establish eligibility.
Government quota reservations
If you claim community reservation, the 7.5% government school preference or another special category, check the government prospectus and the Selection Committee’s separate eligible lists and notices for that category.
Before you submit or fill choices
Confirm that you chose the intended quota and claimed all applicable categories in the official application. The management prospectus says NRI and religious or linguistic minority categories cannot be added after application (general instructions, printed page 18). Check the current notices and the rules for your counselling round before making a final choice.
